Abstrak

Aqidah moral learning is a subject that exists in the Islamic religion. However, there are still some obstacles in learning Aqidah Akhlak in schools, such as the lack of character-based curriculum development. MAN 1 Samarinda in East Kalimantan is one of the schools experiencing these problems. This research was conducted to improve the quality of Aqidah Akhlak learning through the development of a character-based curriculum at MAN 1 Samarinda. The purpose of this study was to identify learning problems in Aqidah Akhlak, design a character-based curriculum, and evaluate the impact of curriculum development on the quality of learning. The research method used is classroom action research. This research was conducted in three cycles with each cycle consisting of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show that the development of a character-based curriculum can improve the quality of Aqidah Akhlak learning. Implementation of the curriculum can help students to develop good character, such as honesty, discipline, and cooperation. In addition, the use of more interactive and participatory learning methods also increases students' interest and motivation in learning. In conclusion, this study proves that the development of a character-based curriculum can improve the quality of Aqidah Akhlak learning at MAN 1 Samarinda. Therefore, it is suggested that other schools also develop a character-based curriculum in teaching Aqidah Akhlak to improve the quality of education in Indonesia.
