Abstrak

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini mengenai peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika melalui penerapan model problem based learning pada materi statistika. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika peserta didik pada materi statistika sebanyak 69,44% peserta didik tidak lulus KKM yang ditentukan yaitu 70. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model problem based learning pada materi statistika serta mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik pada materi statistika. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, maka dilakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang menerapkan model Kemmis dan Mc.Taggart dalam dua siklus. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang diperoleh peserta didik . Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model problem based learning berpengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi statistika. Hal ini terlihat dari peningkatan nilai persentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal pada siklus I sebanyak 55,55% sedangkan nilai presentase ketuntasan belajar klasikal pada siklus II sebesar 88,88%.

ABSTRACT

This research is about improving mathematical problem solving abilities through the application of problem based learning models to statistical material. This research was motivated by the low ability of students to solve mathematical problems in statistics material, as many as 69.44% of students did not pass the specified KKM, namely 70. The aim of this research is to describe the process of implementing learning by applying the problem based learning model to statistics material and to describe improvements students' problem solving abilities in statistics material. Based on these problems, Classroom Action Research (PTK) was carried out which applied the Kemmis and Mc. Taggart model in two cycles. This research uses test instruments to determine the problem solving abilities obtained by students. The research results show that the application of the problem based learning model has a positive effect on students' problem solving abilities in statistics material. This can be seen from the increase in the percentage value of classical learning completeness in cycle I by 55.55%, while the percentage value of classical learning completeness in cycle II was 88.88%.
