Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan implementasi peranan dan fungsi kurikulum sebagai inovasi pembelajaran Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) di SMP Islam Al-Ishlah Bukittinggi. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan lima guru PAI. Panduan wawancara disusun berdasarkan literatur mengenai peranan kurikulum, seperti pelestarian budaya, pembentukan karakter, inovasi pembelajaran, dan integrasi teknologi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kurikulum berperan strategis dalam menanamkan nilai keislaman dan budaya lokal, membentuk karakter religius, serta mendorong pembelajaran inovatif berbasis proyek dan teknologi. Kurikulum juga berfungsi sebagai pedoman perangkat ajar, evaluasi, serta penguatan keterampilan hidup dan kewirausahaan. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa kurikulum merupakan instrumen dinamis dalam membentuk kepribadian dan kompetensi siswa. Oleh karena itu, peningkatan kapasitas guru dan kolaborasi antar pemangku kepentingan sangat penting untuk mengoptimalkan implementasi kurikulum dalam pendidikan Islam yang kontekstual dan relevan.

 

This study aims to describe the implementation of the roles and functions of the curriculum as an innovation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at Al-Ishlah Islamic Junior High School in Bukittinggi. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with five PAI teachers. The interview guidelines were developed based on literature related to curriculum roles, including cultural preservation, character building, instructional innovation, and technology integration. The analysis reveals that the curriculum plays a strategic role in instilling Islamic and local cultural values, fostering religious character, and encouraging innovative, project-based, and technology-integrated learning. The curriculum also functions as a guide for instructional planning and assessment, as well as for strengthening life skills and entrepreneurship. These findings affirm that the curriculum is not merely an administrative document, but a dynamic instrument for shaping students' character and competencies. Therefore, enhancing teacher capacity and stakeholder collaboration is essential to optimize curriculum implementation in Islamic education that is contextual and relevant to current needs.
