Poetry is an expression of the thought process that enlivens feelings and is able to foster imagination through a series of rhythmic words. Usually in poetry the author uses linguistic grammar. Therefore, this article aims to analyze Chairil Anwar's Bintang poem based on semantic studies using lexical meaning, grammatical meaning, referential meaning, and figurative meaning. The research method on this article uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The descriptive method is research that is carried out to describe an independent variable, either on only one variable or more (stand-alone variables) without making comparisons and looking for that variable with other variables. Data collection using literature studies. The results showed that Chairil Anwar's Bintang poem consists of four stanzas and has a semantic meaning of 13 grammatical words, 24 lexical word and 9 referential words. Anwar's Bintang poem consists of four stanzas and has a semantic meaning of 13 grammatical words, 24 lexical words, 8 referential words, and 1 figurative word. The most sementic meaning found in the poem is lexical. This is because the author uses words that have the actual meaning and are in accordance with the dictionary. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Bintang poem by Chairil Anwar tells the story of a teacher who provides direction and Light in the writer's life.
