Abstrak

This research explores forehand and backhand techniques in table tennis using qualitative methods. The main aim of the research is to understand in depth the factors that influence the effectiveness of hitting techniques and gain insight into the experiences and prospects of table tennis players and coaches regarding these two types of shots. The results were collected through observation of literature as well as seeing directly about table tennis training and players, direct observation during training sessions and matches. Process analysis was carried out using a qualitative descriptive approach to identify the main themes that emerged from the results collected. The results showed that the effectiveness of forehand and backhand shots depends on several factors including body position, racket angle, movement coordination, and consistency. The results of the vision directly show that mental factors such as self-confidence and focus also play a role in hitting. Observations during training show that a training pattern that focuses on consistently repeating basic techniques helps improve the accuracy and speed of punches. Based on these findings, the study recommends a training approach that emphasizes basic skill development, repetitive practice, and providing constructive feedback to players. This research makes a significant contribution to the field of table tennis by offering a deeper understanding of forehand and backhand stroke technique through a qualitative lens, as well as providing practical recommendations for coaches and players to improve skills and performance.
